According to my uncle getting shot in the foot works pretty well.
That's be great if I could sneak it out from under my mom's bed. I can't wait until she's better. Do you know what it's like to wake up in the middle of the night with an old woman hovering over you with a load gun?

Actually, yes. Yes I do know what that's like.

Sure. Take a mouthful of cold water and then sit on a hot stove until it boils. Works every time...

What if I die. Can I take a rain check of the rep point?

Seriously, the only thing that works for me is drinking a tall, tall glass of water without taking a breath.
I tried that once, but drowned.

Yes. Feel free. I'll collect at Sam Clam's Disco.

I was able to get rid of the hiccups last night after pulling up a naked picture of Rosie O'Donnell up on the internet. Scared me nearly to death...

An old medical trick is to lie down flat and have someone press with two fingers (index and middle) above the eyebrows and hold for around 5 to 10 seconds. Do this 2 or 3 times.

It supposedly stimulates the vagus nerve which plays a role in diaphragm control.

However, an easier way to stimulate your vagus nerve would be to masturbate.

So...I guess "churning the butter" might cure your hiccups?

Put fingers in your ears and drink liquid through a straw - works every single time.

If you don't have a straw, someone else will need to put fingers in your ears.

If you don't have fingers, you'll have to get pencils or something similar.

If you don't have ears, it probably won't work anyway.

Seriously though, this really, really, really does work. It's some sort of pressure differential.

I agree with dclary--a teaspoon of sugar will cure the hiccups if it doesn't kill you first. Also known to work (if sugar fails) is a glass of orange juice.

Plug your ears and your nose and then swallow. Count to ten. The trick is to not allow any air to escape your head.

You'll end up out of breath, but the hiccups will be gone.

Another thing that can work is drink upside down. Better do this over a sink; it's quite messy. Basically, you drink a glass of water from the opposite side of the glass.

I did that once.
It did work and it was messy.

Cover your ears and swallow some water. This is probably the only thing in my life that I use, but have no idea why it works. I know it works, but I can offer no scientific why.
