Gad, that's never good, is it? The last time we got a letter home it was because Son had gotten into trouble. Very embarrassing for a PTO officer.

So, with great trepadition, I peel open the envelope. My kid was chosen for Student of the Month :snoopy: :hooray: for "Outstanding Academic Achievement", "Excellent Participation" (AKA: he can't shut up... wonder where he gets that?? LOL), and "Great Attitude". :D

Now I don't have to be embarrassed and slink around the school like last time.

My mother got notes that said, "Please don't have any more children."

That's great! I got a letter from my son's preschool this week. It said that someone in his class had lice. Now I'm on nit patrol, but have found none so far, thank goodness.

I long for the days when a note from my son's school doesn't include a bill for $16,000.

Maryn, who preferred the one about his stepping on the viola and breaking it

That's awesome, Carrie. I look forward to...no I don't. I know what the ones from my kid's school will say. If I see them at all.

Way cool. But since when did the PTA become an enforcement organization. :D

Notes from the school give me heart palpitations. I'm so glad yours was good news! Give that wee lad an extra hug for his efforts. And a kiss, if he'll let you.

CARRIE: Son, Pete and I are so proud of you.

SON: What....? Who's Pete?

CARRIE: I mean your dad. Sorry. Both we're proud of you!

Too funny - I was just telling DH about the collaborating and He's like "Mmm hmmm, I know how these things go. Son, say hi to your mom's new boyfriend."

That's awesome! Most of the notes I brought home had to do with my "Excessive Talking". Good thing those notes were effective, or else I'd never shut....Oh wait, nevermind.

Geez, mine too.

And threats. She kept getting threats.

"The little bastard will be absent at least once a month, OR ELSE."

Congrats! It is great to get 'positive' letters from school. I know that scary feeling, and it also reminds me of one the 'funniest' letters I got from my son's school a while back, not exactly 'negative' or positive' but it merely started:

"Dear Parent, Your son Ryan Buster......"

Now my 14 yr old son does NOT have a second name called BUSTER, so at some point in his head he must have decided to write that on all his schoolwork.. and we never realised until we started getting letters like the one above! sheesh kids..!

All I want to know Carrie...
Is how much this note is gonna cost you? :D

My kids would make highway robbery look like a petty crime if they came home with a note like that...but then again if they did...I would think something went wrong in the gene pool in my family :D

That's great!

I used to get notes from my daughter's teacher, a very strict French lady.

"Dear The Parent of Linsey

She is does not do so much homework. Please make sure that the completion of the homework is finish BEFORE to school she gets."

and the worst one was

"Dear The Parent of Linsey

Linsey does not get so much lunch. She is hungry. Please send her more to eat at the lunch time."

That last one was slipped into her lunch bag that still had the banana, juice and crackers that I sent her (she threw out her sandwich.) Grrrr! I kept waiting to hear from the Children's Aid Society for weeks after that last one.:(

Congratulations.
I was always a goody-goody in school.
Did have its advantages though.
Anyway, more power to ya!
