A point a comment?

Members give one point and admins can give 10. I'm not sure if mods or supermods give out a higher number - I checked the FAQ search and didn't see that distinction. I'll do a forum search and see if there's anything on that.

Ok, according to this post mods and supermod rep you at 2 pts each.

I'm not sure if it's related to this or not, but I saw a post earlier today by Jenna about some kind of software glitch last night. You may have gotten comments but they didn't go through, but your rep point counter did count them.

I'm just guessing however. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting a "three point conversion".

get a rep from me or veinglory and it adds 2 pts
get a rep from ChunkyC, Fahim or Mac and you get 10 pts
otherwise it's one at a time.

Once you reach a certain level of posts-- I forget what it is-- you get an extra point of "rep power." And I think for every year you're on the board, you get an extra point, too.

So let's say that every 5,000 posts, you get an extra "point of power." And you've been here for more than 2 years. If you've posted 6,000 times, you'd then be giving out 3 points at a time instead of 1.

It's something like that.

What sort of point totals do the Calendar Keepers get to hand out?

And yes, it's 2 a.m., I can't sleep and I have to be awake at 6:30 a.m. to finish a podcast and PDF newspaper here in Southwest Asia.

If you get a rep from a thread which gets deleted, the point stays -- but the line in your CP (comment, thread label, and name of repper) vanishes.

So, you might have more reps than you can account for as a result of that.

That sounds Haskins-related...

Now, the exception to these point-giving rules occur if the point is given on a Tuesday, but the repper is living anywhere west of the Mississippi River but North of old Route 66, and the rep-ee is standing on their head and chanting "We represent the Lollipop King" while covered in pudding.

Of course, if the pudding is butterscotch it's all null and void anyway.
