This is it! The official Word Count Thread thread. :D

What do you have? I'm sitting at, um, 1850. I think. Words. Not characters. In characters, it's much, much more. Should I count characters with spaces or without? *thwap* 1850. That's it.

358 words from starting at midnight last night. I'll be able to devote all of tonight to writing, so I should catch up by tomorrow.

I'm with you Mark, the big zippo, nada, nothing.

Couldn't stay up to ring in the midnight hour and now I'm stuck at work with back to back conference calls (including the lunch hour) so I won't even begin to think about pg.1 until after dinner. But get out of the way after that!!

I'm at a comfortable 1019. Considering I did a whopping 3k the whole NANOWRIMO last year, I'm pleased with this.

I'm cheating, because I'm working on a book that I started long before NaNo, but since midnight last night, I think I've written... 6 words. Yes, 6.

Well I was going to update my little icon thingie, but the Nano page is running so SLOW this morning, I can't get on even with a T-1 line.

I'm pushing 1300 as of right now . . . pushing, pushing, pushing.

3,444 right now! :D

I always do this. I rock my word counts at the start of a new project. It's AFTER the first 30K or so that the slogging gets hard.

I've only ever gotten 12,000 into a project aside from my first (trunk) novel. I'm hoping it's a bridge I can cross when I get there.

Zero so far ... stuck at work and it's a busy day. But it's only an hour until lunch time. Then I'm taking my laptop and sneaking away to whack out a few hundred words at least.

3380! That's the most I have ever written in a day :hooray:

I just got an encouragement email from those friendly NaNo people. He said to try for 2500 words everyday in the first week to get ahead. Looks like I am ahead of the game...

SoccerMom, you're unbelievable! How do you write so much in a day???

When I grow up I want to be SoccerMom...
Time to get back to work...

I'm jealous of you people. I just got started. I was good & took out the two chapters I wrote pre-NaNo & rewrote (more or less retyped) the first two paragraphs of chapter 3. I'm at 173.

...

I swear it said 173 a minute ago, but I typed more & it reads 107 now. Hmm. I must have imagined that 1 before. Wishful thinking

1645, not bad for the odd 15 minutes here and there between unpacking. Who thought moving house and nano were compatible? Not me, nu-oh, sir.

Hey, if it was easy, it wouldn't be half as much fun! (right?)

That goes for Nano AND moving!

1348 so far. I took me about 75 minutes. I'm shooting for 1700 a day, and then maybe taking a day off every five or so. But we'll see ...

Well, lunch time netted me 684 words in 40 minutes. It's hard to eat and type at the same time. I'm looking forward to getting home tonight and really digging in.

717 words!! I know that seems like nothing compared to the 3,000 that SOME people are managing (coughSoccerMomandSmiley1000cough), but it's a rather impressive amount for me all the same.

Good luck everyone!! (Yes, even Soccer Mom and Smiley1000 though they clearly don't need it. ;))

3,383 :D I'm so pleased. SO PLEASED. And I like where the story is going even though the writing isn't so great. This turning off the internal editor is hard stuff!

Yay for Day One!

763. And two of them are my name.

But I was gone most of the day...big hopes for tomorrow!

EDIT: Then it occurred to me that instead of browsing threads, I could be writing. So, make it 1117, but I had to stop when my kid kept wandering in--not children's material.

Not in the AW forums, I swear!
I've got 2400 of the worst slush ever typed into a word processor!

"Happy me," she said wryly. (Don't edit that adverb, now! Just let it go. Just let it go...)

ltd.
