So far no kiddies have stopped by ours. Darn, all the candy will be for howie and me. lol. I'm interested and nosy to know how many you think will drop by your house for 'trick or treat.'

Have a happy and safe Halloween everyone!

About 40 so far. And we have only 5 candy bars left, so I just sent Anthony out to get more! I'm all tense while I wait... what if a group of 6 kids comes while he's gone?

We usually get about two dozen. We're about 20 minutes from curfew, so we might get a few last stragglers.

Sigh. Done for another year. Time to put all the cool scary stuff away.

Next year: severed hands. I need some severed hands.

Now it's time to figure out where to put the Christmas tree. I used to put it in the sunroom, but that's now Boy-child's playroom, and there's just too much stuff.

I think the dog is losing his crate space, and we'll put it in the office. Hubby and I just dropped a bundle on a Lionel electric Polar Express train to put around the tree on Christmas morning.

I love Christmas.

Believe it or not.

We are very alike.

We'll talk more over in the G.A.D. forum that I will hopefully moderate one day.

OMG. My husband is cruising for a beating... he was outside, so I thought he had gone for more candy-- but no. He looked down the block, declared, "There are no kids on the block," and decided not to go. He is demanding that I give quarters if we should get another wave of kiddies. But, no! I will not be the coin woman! I'm getting my pregnant fisherwoman butt out to CVS... be back soon...

When we did Haunted Halls - the college version of trick-or-treating - we got probably 60-70 kids through. Probably more; I was down the street at one of the terrifying haunted houses.

I miss trick-or-treating. This is my first year not going out since I can remember.

Anthony,
I don't know your screenname, so I was left with no choice.

I left you a negative rep point with the big man in the sky.

A lot. Or so I've heard. The gf's doing it. I'm not home.

Last year, I was home and got zero kids. None.

Then I found out you were supposed to put a pumpkin sign on your door. That's baloney. Now kids don't have to worry about people not being home? Every doorbell they ring is guaranteed candy?

Where's the work ethic in this country?

lol....

Is that true?

That reminds me of kids who trick or treat in apartment buildings.

Door..door door door door door door....

They make a killing with zero effort.

Get out there in the cold, go door to door and work to fill that bag up like I used to do.

Oh, I was the king. I had more candy then anyone. I was obsessive about it.

Thank you.

Bought a bag of Crunch bars, and for $3, my sanity is restored. However, I have to admit, there haven't been any more kiddies since Anthony declared the street empty.

Hang on, I'll go show you a pic of my "costume."

We got about a dozen kids. We took Son last night so we could stay home and dole out candy tonight.

That's pretty good for us since we're rural and most of the kids have to be driven around. LOL

someplace around here, anyone seen my keys?
I did the same thing last year, Jenna - had to go out and get more candy before the bowl emptied out. A late surge of somewhat older kids made the trip worthwhile.

Still nobody here...it's nearly dark!

He hasn't hidden the trick-or-treaters, has he? Or tainted your street by his proclamation??

We had four kids, in one group.

That's what we get for living on a dead end street with only 5 houses. People figure it's not worth the trouble.

Even so, we usually get more than this--but this year is colder than usual.

Cath, my blood pressure couldn't take that. ;)

And yes, I think Anthony made some sort of deal with the Trick or Treaters while I was gone. Like, "Here's a dollar. Don't show up at this house after my wife gets back."

Here's me in costume! I really should have put a fly on my hat.

I got like 15 kids. The neighborhood I just moved into is lame. In the one I grew up in there was like 500 kids out every Halloween.

Wow, I can't believe your turnouts. We had at least a hundred, maybe more. My wife had to go out and get more.

And it was a cold and rainy day. Chilly tonight, so actually the crowds were smaller this year.

We do live in the suburbs, so that helps.

Oh man, we're getting a real stampede here tonite! There was just a fabulous chicken costume and before that a great Bela Lugosi-type Dracula - the makeup was really well done...

*snif* this is the first year I don't have a dressed up kid/teen around...
