Another agent replied to my query that she "absolutely loved the idea"! She wants the full before the weekend!
So needless to say, I’m psyched!
Will this be it? No clue. I’m a little wiser on that front cause I realize they could still say no, but I am still excited. My foot is once again in the door, this time up to my knee!
And it happened the day before Halloween. Ironic, huh?
* Looks outside towards the still, dark night. *
She’s not real, is she?

Eek! How exciting. I will cross my fingers for you (except when I'm typing, of course). Good luck.

That certainly is an omen. I've got my stuff crossed, so GOOD LUCK.
Looks like you're getting a weekend read. But I shouldn't be saying that, should I!

What? She needed it "by the weekend, ASAP".
Weekend read? You know about this stuff, don't you?

Is that a good thing?
She seemed very excited to get it.

Oh man, if my muse Annabelle could grab and keep a pro agent like she did all the betas...

SLAP

Calm down, Scott. Listen to Sting, relax. Get back to work.

Jack I don't want to get you spilling coffee or anything or wrecking the car or anything. But everyone knows what a weekend read means. Just CALM DOWN.

And don;t get too wiorked up by Monday. Even if it IS a weekend read, she might not finish it over the weekend. Agents DO have lives, yanno.

Read the latest entry on Rachel Vater's blog and you'll see. VERY enlightening.

Wow. So a weekend read is good? Sorry, my muse has me working so fast at all this, I forget how little I know. Does it mean the agent really liked the query enough to make it a priority?
But when others read it to edit it, they got sucked in and forgot they were editing it. What would happen if she's reading it to fit her tight schedule?
Btw, thanks for that article, aruna. I never realized just what they do. Sheesh. I'm going to have my wife read that.

But if she's reading fast (and who can blame her with a schedule like that?), she'll jump into the 5pg hook first chapter, then she drives through the mystery and intro chapters, then hits the grabbing stuff where everything changes, the part that hooked the betas the most, and... at that speed...
Thats like running onto an ice patch! She'll hit that conclusion like a cliff overhang!

Would that mean? Could it mean?

SLAP SLAP

Back to 8-5 drafting job, Scott. Don't live for that (yeah, right. Sure.) and focus.

GAH!

I think you need to come up with a few things to distract yourself. Try to stop fretting! I imagine I would be doing the same thing in your shoes, but do try. :)

Heh. Thanks sammyig. Yeah, I've got a website of crazy fan-fan fiction (stories about poster-name characters) site I write for. I'll write some stuff for them.
That is if the vampire Annabelle doesn't bang on my head again, shouting for more book 2.

Maybe you can give her a Harry Potter style Blood Pop to keep her busy for awhile.

Scott, go ahead and enjoy the high! They don't come that often.

Way to go and keep Annabella busy! :snoopy:

I don't remember any blood popsickles in the Potter books?

Naw, she's happy enough to wait... for a bit.

You'd think after 300 yrs she would have more patients but sometimes she's still a child.

That really is incredible news. How many agents did you query, anyway?

Counting the first set that resulted in Jessica's partial, the set right after her rejection letter, then the set a week later after those, I'd say 37.

Yes, 37 quarries. One was to a small time publisher but I really don't want to go through them.

They are blood lollipops and were mentioned in passing in the 3rd book I think when Harry gets to go to the candy store in Hogsmeade. If I remember right, Ron said "Yuk!" when they spied them on the shelf.
