I cannot figure out how to put the participant icon on my signature. What's wrong with me? Or, the easier question, what do I do to download it so it appears on my sig?

Oh, and this is probably in the wrong place, but maybe someone could help me.

someplace around here, anyone seen my keys?
OK - I'm back and what I thought was the case, is the case. You need to link the participant icon to your sig using a URL. So, you'll need to have the participant image hosted somewhere for you to get a URL to use.

I use Photobucket, there are other sites that do free hosting of images as well. I'm sending you a PM with other info. Hope it helps.

It's wierd. I clicked the "Insert Image" box, pasted the url, and clicked "Save", but nothing happened to my signature. When I went to edit it again, the image wasn't in the text box.

Hey Dawn, care to explain the whole image thing to me using small non-technical words? :)

If I save the graphic to a hosting site like photo bucket, how will it know my word count? I'm so confused. What else is new?

Here's how you get the counter...

http://www.nanowrimo.org/NanowrimoUtils/LiveParticipant/USERNUMBER.png

Only, you have to go into your own VIEW PROFILE page. Look in the Website Address Bar...the last 5 digits are your usernumber. Use the string above, replacing < > with square brackets and replacing USERNUMBER with your 5 digit number. Also...it knows by reading your updated word count at nanowrimo...so you must keep updating it there.

Hope that helps, Sarah.

Yes, Kevin! You are a gem. Thanks a million. :) And great job getting yourself kickstarted early this morning! I'm going for the fast and furious approach, myself.
