Read an article on something I hadn't realized: this writer claims that in most online communities, 90% are lurkers, 9% of users contribute a little and 1% of users account for almost all the action.

So, if this is true, then 90 percent of visitors to AW are lurkers?

I bet the figures for lurking are a lot lower for AW. We aren't, as a group, really representative of the general population when it comes to putting down words, lol.

I bet that's probably pretty close to accurate on any given day. However, if we look at the life of a forum, it's probably closer to 25% contribute a little and 10% account for most of the action. Unless you're talking OP, where 99.2% lurk and the elite .8% account for all the action. :roll:
