I SO had a great gag here, but when I did my due diligence research I discovered every single song I ever liked that I thought was a Rush song was actually done by Styx.

Sorry.

Sorry.

My condolences. This may constitute something of a thread hijack, but my nominee for the all-time most pretentious rock band would be Styx. Slight edge over U2 and Journey, but not much.

caw.

I was all set with a Mr. Roboto joke. And then a Babe I Love You joke. And then Come Sail Away.

It's all Styx.

But CCR rules. A great band, and the greatest example of a young up and coming group getting about as butt-raped as any group could by their record label.

Just consider the fact that the average rock-and-roll fan worth their salt could name 15 or so songs they did that rule. And all this between, what, 1967 and 1971? Who is that prolific these days?

Oh, wait, we're in TIO, so, um, Clary, green people with beards hate America, or something.

Believe it or not, I actually paid good money to see Styx in concert. And yes, it was only because of the girls, and there were legions of them. :)

Me too. And A-ha's The Living Daylights was a kickin' Bond song.

Better than Madonna's crap.

No I think All Time High was in a Roger Moore Bond movie.

I kinda liked Dalton, actually. Got a bad rap.

Dalton wasn't anywhere near as bad as George Lazenby. If you want to watch a truly atrocious attempt at acting, watch the Bond he was in (I blissfully have forgotten which one that was).

Damn. I remembered. On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I thought this was another Rush Limbaugh thread and how he hates CCR and that they are from the devil. or something.

Is this TIO enough? :D

I remember when Rush did that joke about Slim Whitman. I could not believe that some people actually believed he was serious when he said the Devil spoke in a Slim Whitman song.

Sheesh!

I love the fact that this thread has wandered from Current Events to TIO and back. It's the Ronin Thread.

Agreed. The flaws in his Bond movies were not his fault, imo.

And why didn't they go to any great lengths to make him appear taller, like they always do with "actors" like Stallone and Snipes, et al?
