Has anyone else read this book?

My copy disappeared along with a sticky-fingered ex, and I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for my new copy to get here.

Man, how come nobody ever heard of this one? I ask people if they have a copy I can borrow, and they look at me like I just asked them to borrow a cup of fairy dust.

Never heard of it. Who's the author?

Kirsten Bakis is the author.

And, when I was in college, us English Majors were rolling our eyes at another round of "Frankenstein" and slipping each other this book.

Yeah, it's a good book, sad and beautiful. It won a Stoker award in, what? '97?

That sounds about right, HConn.

Sad to see things of quality that win awards sink into the long tail, but that's the way of things.
