I am looking for suggestions for a bird that fits the following criteria for my WIP, but I guess I've never paid (enough) attention to these things except to chase seagulls when I was a kid:
ocean shorebird; east coast/North America, nests in tall grass/on the ground; has fragile young that require nurturing for awhile (I need them to stick around for at least a couple weeks), migratory.
