Oo, I can't wait!

Here are a couple:
www.sticksportsoccer.com -- soccer, with a World Cup play option. Very good.
www.stickcricket.com -- cricket, by the same mob as above (I think someone here gave me this link). Now with head-to-head (batting and bowling) option.

A soccer game I haven't played yet? You are a bad, bad man. It's almost Nano :( Oh dear.

A World Cup play option, you say?

Fishy

Here's a fun one. You start out as a small fish. Using the arrow keys to move around, avoid bigger fish and consume only smaller prey. Eventually, your fish will grow bigger, and you'll win by eating everything in sight.

NO! RUN! This game is incredibly addictive!

On the otherhand, I could have used this last night. My co-writer and I set a time limit, a goal, if you will. I had to get up at 5:30 this morning, but we're only one chapter (YES! O-N-E!) away from finishing our novel. So, we figured we'd get the start out of the way and finish up this weekend. We were going to write from 7:30 to 9:30, finish up the scene and watch a movie to relax.

11pm, we finally 'wrapped it up'.

I was so tired this morning, but in a good way. :tongue Jezzball, here I come!

Your favorite time-wasters?
Believe it or not, but I don't play online games of any sort. I've avoided them most of my adult life probably because if I'm programming all day I don't want to play games at night.

I only visit a few websites and they are mostly technical or job searches. And of course this site which is dear to me as a writer...

It's so good. And the announcer's comments are funny.

I've made Australia win the World Cup! (And yes, they hammered Italy. It was *very* cathartic!)

Poet - that cricket game is fantastic - there's even a cartoon Richie Benaud.
"Yeeesssssss, marrrrvelous shot!" He's my all-time favorite commentator now -- well, tied with Phil Liggett (who does our commentary on the Tour de France).

I'm getting to love cricket. I've found out it is *not* for the faint-hearted. Where else is it part of the game to (a) take a ball at 100mph in the ribs, and (b) catch a ball going that speed with your bare hands?

And the Ashes series is almost here. It's going to be a good summer!

I took all the games off my computer. It was difficult and I still have them on a memory stick if I want to play them. But I am too easily distracted to keep them on my laptop full time.

I bought ex-bf a playstation once, I set it up about 1pm and started playing. I thought I'd been there an hour when he got home, but it had been 6hrs. I have never played since.

Yahoo Games! I love to get on-line and play Texas Hold 'em. I can waste hours. But I'm completely addicted to their game, Jewel Quest. I could choke the person who told me to check it out!

And I'm going to ignore the Jezzball link above...I'll need an intervention if I start playing that again!

I used to play Trogdor online. It was a big waste of time, but it was a lot of fun.

Damn! I couldn't resist clicking the link. <sigh> I guess I'll have to say good bye now...I won't be on much because my time will be consumed by playing Jezzball.

It was nice knowing you all...

There is a weird little word-association game at http://www.shygypsy.com/farm/p.cgi. I go back now and then and manage to fill in a couple more boxes.

I occasionally play Boggle at http://weboggle.shackworks.com/

Games as well as other things at http://i-am-bored.com

And there is http://www.nationstates.net/ which isn't really addictive, since you can do only one thing a day, but is fun. My country at http://www.nationstates.net/cyjon is run like I was really running a country, while at http://www.nationstates.net/south_cyjon we have the country which I play like I am the immortal god-king of my people.

Oh my, someone just turned me on to this website.
If you like riddles, this one is for you. There's a forum that goes with it, if you need hints. But be patient, they are more obvious than they appear at first.
