My dad and step mom are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. We (5 kids) got a bunch of pictures together of our time with them, and our families now, and everything in between and my brother is putting them all together and between sets of photos are video clips of the grandkids wishing them a happy anniversary. Of course he has music to play behind the photos, but he doesn't have enough songs.
They like oldies, they like country (classic country mostly). It needs to be about family or love or some other make every one in the room at their anniversary party sniffle kind of music and well, none of us really listen to much of that and we don't know what songs to use!

Suggestions?

thanks!

Maybe something by Vince Gill, Randy Travis (Forever and Eve, Amen), Tony Bennett, or Frank Sinatra.

And, of course . . . there's always Celine Dion! ;-)

Where the sidewalk ends
I grew up on classic country...(although I'm in my mid 30s, so classic country to me may not be classic country to others :) ).

But some suggestions:
Through the Years by Kenny Rogers
You Decorated My Life by Kenny Rogers
Could I Have This Dance by Anne Murray
Now and Forever (Just You and Me) by Anne Murray
I'll Always Love You by Dolly Parton
Funny Face by Donna Fargo

Hope that helps!

I love Remember When by Alan Jackson. Here are the lyrics.

Remember when I was young and so were you
and time stood still and love was all we knew
You were the first, so was I
We made love and then you cried
Remember when

Remember when we vowed the vows
and walked the walk
Gave our hearts, made the start, it was hard
We lived and learned, life threw curves
There was joy, there was hurt
Remember when

Remember when old ones died and new were born
And life was changed, disassembled, rearranged
We came together, fell apart
And broke each other's hearts
Remember when

Remember when the sound of little feet
was the music
We danced to week to week
Brought back the love, we found trust
Vowed we'd never give it up
Remember when

Remember when thirty seemed so old
Now lookn' back it's just a steppin' stone
To where we are,
Where we've been
Said we'd do it all again
Remember when
Remember when we said when we turned gray
When the children grow up and move away
We won't be sad, we'll be glad
For all the life we've had
And we'll remember when

He should throw in one joke song . . .

Maybe Hips Don't Lie by Shakira, or Check It Out by Beyonce.

We have done many of these. My brother has his own video taping business and we’ve done this for family wakes (about their life) and a Christmas gift for my mom. Excellent gift and remembrance. Let me think of some we used.

Blessed by Martina McBride
That’s Amore by Dean Martin
The Way you Look Tonight by Tony Bennett (I like his version better)
Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
Casera sera by Doris Day
Lascia Ch’io Pianga by Sarah Brightman (if they like opera) It contributes to the pictures.
Pavarotti definitely if they like opera

I gotta go. Hope this helps.

I summer at PetSmart and winter at the Vet's
It's not country, but how about Happy Together by the Turtles?

Or how about "You And I" by Eddie Rabbit
(featuring Crystal Gayle)

Just you and I
Sharing our love together
And I know in time
We'll build the dreams we treasure
And we'll be all right
Just you and I

Just you and I (just you and I)
Sharing our love together
And I know in time
We'll build the dreams we treasure
We'll be all right
Just you and I

And I remember our first embrace
That smile that was on your face
The promises that we made
And now, your love is my reward
And I love you even more
Than I ever did before

Just you and I (just you and I)
We can entrust each other
With you in my life
They'll never be another
We'll be all right
Just you and I

And I remember our first embrace
That smile that was on your face
The promises that we made
And now, your love is my reward
And I love you even more
Than I ever did before

We made it, you and I

Memories

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine

Quiet thought come floating down
And settle softly to the ground
Like golden autumn leaves around my feet
I touched them and they burst apart with sweet memories,
Sweet memories

Of holding hands and red bouquets
And twilight trimmed in purple haze
And laughing eyes and simple ways
And quiet nights and gentle days with you

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine,
Memories, memories, sweet memories

My pleasure. Tell me how it goes.

If it's not too late, "Color My World," by Chicago, might be a good addition. It's a nice love song accompanied by flute and piano. I think it clocks in at less than two minutes, so it may work as a short filler if needed.

I've witnessed one other program like the one you describe, and everyone loved it. Good luck!

Something upbeat and funny, maybe?

Good Enough for Grand-Dad, by Squirrel Nut Zippers
(rollicking Charleston tempo)

If it's good enough for Grand-Dad,
It's good enough for me
Well, the way things were
Is the way they oughta be

All the good times that he had
They were good enough for Grand-Dad
They're good enough for me

Been to all kinds of places
Been to every old foreign land
Ain't a man alive
[who can] shuck an' jive
Better than Grand-Dad can, nuh-uh!

All the good times that he had
They were good enough for Grand-Dad
They're good enough for me

<swing you dogs!>

All the good times that he had
They were good enough for Grand-Dad
They're good enough for me
