Because where I live, people think I'm crazy or slightly off because of the actions I take and philosophies I spew. But if I'm crazy, then you are all crazy as well because I hear similar ideas reflected back at me. What say you, Absolute Writers? Are we all slightly off?

Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me up in a white room. I died in that room and they buried me in the ground. There a worms in the ground. Worms drive me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once...

I think when you are involved in both creative endeavor *and* craft - as we are - the striving for balance is itself a colorful seesaw.

I keep telling you: I'm perfectly normal. It's everybody else who's odd.

I refer to myself as UNIQUE, not crazy or weird or nuts. My quirks outnumber any normal traits, but I have always strived to be different. AW lets me chat with some pretty amazing people.

Actually I think too many people around here put too much effort into being acceptable and pleasing. That is a little crazy. Push the boundries people! There are plenty of well written normal books out there, you need to break the mold. The agent shouldn't go 'oh another pleasant little fantasy' but 'Aoowww this is different. I hate it. Therefore I have to get it published!'

Due to recent inflation the value of my advise must now be expressed in fractons of a cent.

I don't, I've never been a Sheep kind of person, I like to do my own thing; but I guess that's why I'm nearly always the last person on a posting... I frighten everyone else away! lol :tongue

I'm posting just to keep elodie from being last. That's how nice I am!

Sometimes.

Maryn, who'll keep the other times to herself, thank you very much

It's okay to be crazy. Here in the South we tend to celebrate our crazy people. We don't lock them away, but set them out on the porch for all to see. Every family has got a couple of them. :) Wanna guess who gets put on the porch in my house? ;)

This is especially wonderful for those of us who live out in the boondocks, where few other like-minds exist.

What are boondocks??
Places boons go to unload their cargo?

According to Wikipedia (not my fave reference, but consistent in this one):

"It derives from the Tagalog word bunduk (Bisayan Bukid) meaning "hinterland", that is, inland area. It also carries the implication that it is "backward" or "unsophisticated"; hence taga bunduk "people who live in the hinterland": i.e., people who are backward or unsophisticated.

Boondocks or diminutively "the boonies" has since evolved into a more general American slang term for suburbs in general, regardless of topology or vegetation."

Fondly remember my "Boonie Hat" in the Army...

Yes. I've been telling you for years. You're all weirdos. The weirdest kind, too. I mean, have you met my friend sassandgroove? Or Stew21? Or Shadow Ferret? Weirdos through and through.

Of course we're all crazy. In fact, the more I forget all the rules and let my craziness take over, the better my writing becomes.
