Which is the proper possessive form? Chicago Manual of Style appears to call for General Mills', but I wanted to run it by AW to make sure. Thanks!

I´d say both are acceptable. Your editor will have last word no doubt :)

general mills

If you're talking about the company, it's just General Mills.

I'm using "General Mills" to modify a noun, so I need to figure out the proper possessive form. I settled on General Mills' (no extra "s") based on the style book. Newmod is correct -- my editor will have the last word anyway.

Thanks!

You'll get a good bit of argument, but I'd do it exactly the way you have. It's the form I always use, and I've never had an editor change it.

My last name is Mills, and I much prefer Mills'! (But I've always understood that both are correct.)
