I'm currently writing a novel I consider "fictional narrative." Basically, I'm taking an aspect of my own life and fictionalizing it to make a larger point.

However, my book has stemmed from a class I took called Personal Mythmaking. In it, the primary text was Robert Atkinson's The Gift of Stories. I recommend it to anyone who wants to write a life story, even one only inspired by truth, as mine is. Atkinson's ideas also align with the philosophies of Jung (collective consciousness), which serve to explain that all stories are based on the "hero myth" (a story archetype).

Anyway, it's a good book. It's also a sort of workbook, giving exercises (and providing space for them) to put into practice what the text teaches.

Again: highly recommended. Enjoy!

Thanks again, and just in time to make my Amazon list. I usually get an Amazon Gift Certificate in my stocking...

And I love other reader's recommendations.:Sun:
