Programming Change Notification

Please note that I am going to be making major modifications to the dclary messageboard poster application this weekend. Most emulators will remain intact, however a few emulators are being removed entirely.

Application modifiers "Snark 2.3" "Cursing: USMC Edition" and "Sid Meier's Simmering Sociopath" will be deactivated. In their place, I'm bringing online a beta version of "Compassion XP" and a java freeware version of "Empathy and Understanding."

In addition, depending on my time, I may set a retrobomb to apply these changes to existing posts. That's only if I have time.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during our maintenance period. We know you have many choices when it comes to Internet Personality Bots(tm) and we're glad you chose to use our finest Executor-Class Professional Messageboard Poster, dclary.

Honestly, I've seen this before from the Dclary programimers, and it never works.

Oh, sure the beta will run smooth but really they use some spotty coding to patch over things instead of writing whole new emulators.

I'll give it two weeks after the live launch for the Empathy and Understanding modifiers on the Snark 2.3 to break.

DCLARY SYSTEMS

A spokesman for the Professional Internet Messageboard Poster Emulation Device dclary-aw said the unit was undergoing extensive reprogramming and would not be back online until after this weekend.

"Apparently we tweaked the Empathy emulator too much," said Kenny Loglines, speaking on behalf of the company. "The unit sacrificed itself unnecessarily, and blew out its Rational-Decision subprocessor."

Sceptics protesting outside Dclary Systems headquarters were, well, sceptical. "I told you this would happen," longtime bread-squeezer Whistlelock said. "I told ya."

"It's hard work," Loglines commented, when asked why the dclary-aw unit would be offline so long. "We recently released dclary 2.0, a much friendlier version of the standard model -- who can be quite snarky. The new personality matrix is still being shaped, and problems like this are always a possibility."

In a related story, Loglines added that the new dclary unit's Sudoku analyzer had been improved tremendously.

I don't think so.

I think we should let the technicians and programmers do their job and hopefully they can fix the problem.

It's tricky, but if and when they finally get this program working properly, I know it can be a benefit to all of our lives.

I wish them luck.
