How Much Coffee Does It Take to Wake You Up in the Morning?

It depends. On a work day, it takes 3 to 4 cups. On the weekend, I can actually get away with none some days. Must be psychological.

It actually only takes one for me most of the time. I've been drinking a cup a day for the last 13 years or so...considering that I'm only 19, that's pretty crazy lol. I blame my mom for letting me take a large coffee I won from the old Dunkin Donuts scratch 'n win to kindergarten. Bet my teachers had some fun that day.

Sometimes I have two, though. Mostly on the rare occasion that I work a day shift or cause it's cold out. Or for no reason at all. Coffee is my god. *worships*

i can't stand coffee, i drink a coke in the morning

I set my coffee maker at 8 cups, (which technically is 4, I use a tall cup), drink 3/4 of it in the a.m and the last bit I reheat usually right before dinner.

Did I say two cups? Uh...I meant I snort a couple of lines of coke before breakfast.

I picked the two cups option, because I'm not really sure how it equates. I have a tall coffee mug that I can usually fill by brewing up a whole mini pot (four cups, I think, but those are little 4-6oz measurements).

I try for more caffeine later in the day, around suppertime, whether it's coffee or an energy drink.

I don't drink coffee in the morning. I do like an occasional mocha frap as dessert.

I love coffee. Wish I could drink it all day long.

Dunkin Donuts coffee is so righteous. Especially the french vanilla iced coffee. saWeet!

A "cup" of coffee is somewhere between 4 and 5 ounces depending on the coffeemaker manufacturer. I start my day with 20 ounces of coffee before I even get in the shower. Otherwise, I might drown standing up.

Oh, in that case I easily need 4 to wake up.

I don't drink coffee except once in a while, but I'm surprised how many other writers don't either! For some reason, I expected the vast majority to be coffee drinkers.

If you asked me if I wanted to be awakened with a cup of coffee or a nudge - I would choose the nudge anytime. Nothing like early am sex to get the blood going. Actually because of meds, Im not supposed to have coffee except decaf - but I do drink coke even though I shouldnt. I think I'll go back to my original answer. Sex in the morning. Followed by some afternoon delight when I start running down. (Love those skyrockets in the night!)
