Take a globe and find out what point on the earth is directly opposite to where you live. The earth's continents are so arranged that very few antipodal points to the land surface fall on another land surface. Mine winds up somewhere in the realms of the southern ocean between Africa and Antarctica, supremely unpleasant place, I'd imagine.

Make a hole with a gun perpendicular to the name of this town in a desktop globe. Exit wound in a foreign nation showing the home of the one this was written for.

You just really made my head hurt.

I had heard that song a gazillion times before I caught on to what was being said.

:Wha:
I know this must mean something but the logic escapes me.

What?

:Wha:
I know this must mean something but the logic escapes me.

What?
Meaning the song's about someone from the opposite side of the world.
Here's another:
Allow me to direct your attention to the following simile: you're like the coasts of an ocean. Buried beneath is a submarine cable connecting the opposite shores that surround it. If something happens to drag across the floor of the ocean, for instance an anchor or mooring, the cable can be disrupted or even severed which halts the transmission across it. There is no way to repair the break.
Very cerebral lyrics, eh?
and here's one of my own (from a rap song):
unobserved quantum entities exist in a coherent superposition of all the possible states permitted by its wave function. What? What?

Now don't I feel like a ****ing idiot?
Now tell me how you post with your little light off.

Now tell me how you post with your little light off.

Don't feel bad. I'm sure someone told me once upon a time.

The little light is the cloak of invisibility. You have one, too.
But it takes concentration - total concentration and lots of practice.

On the opposite side of the world from me is a place called Golmud, China in the Kunlun Mountains. I'm sure it's very nice but I'd rather stay here.
We have better pizza.

So, why do I want to find the point on the Earth opposite to me? What am I going to do with it? Dig a hole? What if they don't like me?

Sheesh. You people and your, your, your weird ideas. They're just weird. I'm Brian Fellows.

Why do you want me melted down and shaped into a long barrel? Oh, wait...nevermind. :D

Extra 'N'. Feel better?

Melting you down won't do a thing but leave about a pound and a half of ash.

But will it make me more attractive to the opposite sex?

tiny

I don't think so. Sorry.

Or Howitzerize?

Does that have anything to do with Howie Long?

This thread made my brain hurt. It's too early in the morning for my brain to hurt.

Anyway, I thought Antipodes was a Greek mathemetician.

Actually, I think that was Archimedes. Truthfully, I don't remember what Archimedes did. I just remember him from Disney's "The Sword and the Stone" movie, which tells you something about MY generation...

Didn't Archimedes have a lever that moved the world? Not quite sure where he was standing when he tried it though.

Didn't Archimedes have a lever that moved the world? Not quite sure where he was standing when he tried it though. All I remember about Archimedes is that when a body is placed in water, it displaces an equal volume of water--and induces the phone to ring, although he left that part out.

Maryn, who's actually a shower person

Oh, Archimedes invented the witch trial.
