is my 1000th post. I knew I'd make it someday! :snoopy

This obviously calls for a party. :party

I'm sort of waiting for confetti and streamers to come falling out of my ceiling.

Jenna, you're away behind me... giddy up. Whip, whip.

(who am I kidding... that means you're a busy, WORKING person and I'm just a bum, loitering here with nothing better to do... )

Hmm..I haven't looked for a while but don't think I'm getting too close yet, mostly because I didn't register my nick til Jenna made me. ;)

When was that? Less than a year ago I think. Anyway, I'll check my number after this post. At least I'll be one closer.

Dear maestrowork,

That you have 2880+ posts is not surprising.
That you have 2880+ posts and you are a member since MARCH 24, 2004 is uh...... shall we say... peculiar.

I'm thinking that you must have belonged to other ezboard groups and this count is a carry forward......right?

Which reminds me!

I saw you at my local brick and mortar! You're on the first, top shelf in Reference, Writing. That's not far from the coffee shop, so every time I go there I make sure to face out your book, Words You Thought You Knew

Congrats on the wedding, the books, and the 1000th.

I consider myself quite an accomplished bum here (if I only had written 2840x100 words on my novel I'd be halfway done). Since March (a mere 4 months) I managed to achieve one of the highest post counts here, infiltrate the inner circle, stir up a few controversies, feed everyone bugs, and net myself a nice mod title. I impress even me.

My job is done.

Hey, apparently I recently broke the 1000-post mark, too. Wonder when that happened? Like Frank, I had another id when I first started hanging out here and those posts aren't included in this count, but that is okay by me.

I'm slowly but surely climbing up to 1000. I saw your post at 989 and wondered who would get there first. YOU MADE IT! YAY!!

And, maestro: It doesn't really mean that you're a bum. Just that you always have an answer for EVERYTHING! :b

P.S. Jenna, I'm doing the same thing with your book at the bookstore! And everyone else's...

Is it only me that thinks this obsession with how many times we've posted in here instead of writing something somewhere else is a bit.... strange?

To tell the truth, I am a bit embarassed by my high count. What a big mouth I seem to have!

:ssh

Wonder how many articles I could have done by now if I spent time a bit more wisely?

Oh, well, life's too short to worry about silly things like that. 2000, here I come!!

Ruth, how many hours d'ya think you've spent watching those films?

Yeshanu
08-04-2004, 08:22 PM
Um, um, um...

You do the math. TE about 3 - 3 1/2 hours each, EE is 3 1/2 to 4, so average 3 1/2 times 90 (or an even 100...)

um, um...

Now you know why my book's not finished... :grin

(Keep in mind, though, that it's over a 3 1/2 year period.)

The posting thing happens to me, too. I'm thinking it won't show a new posting number when you post in a private room. Weird.

Posts made to private rooms don't show up in either place, Dawn. But my discrepancy is definitely due to playing on another ezboard.

Speaking of which...

I was visiting said ezboard yesterday, and I felt a little embarassed. Here we are, boasting about post 1000, and chastising Ray for being over 3000. Those are really, really small numbers, kids...

Some of the members of that particular ezboard had over twenty thousand posts...

Sheesh! They should go home and watch a movie or something... :grin

Oh, the site? It's dedicated to three books and three movies. You guess the titles. I'll just say I go there sometimes to realize that there are people who are crazier about that particular story than I am.

MacAl Stone

With Halloween only a few months away, I'm wondering what, oh what will Ruth be this year? By any chance it wouldn't be LOTR related, would it?

Yeshanu
08-10-2004, 10:58 PM
The idea behind Halloween is to dress up as something you're not...

So this year I'm going to dress up as a human.

Oh, and Kida wants to tell you that elf ears get glue in your hair. (But hers aren't natural, her being a half-elf and all...)

Greenwolf103

I am a full elf, or more specifically an elf disguised as a human who's a Nazgul in her spare time. But my human ears got stuck and now I have to put on fake elf ears when I want to be an elf, only when I did last Halloween I got adhesive that i'm positive was just school glue into my hair.:cry
