Pthom, I know the feeling!

3Dog, I always thought it was "neh-zer" (even with my own midwestern roots!). But I could be wrong.

In the words of the great Ernie Banks, "Let's play two!"

It's Nebuchad"neh-zar"...and I confess to cheating a bit...the people that lived in Gezer were pronounced "Geh-zrites", but the city is Gee-zer. (It also was conquered by the Assyrians about a century earlier, but I used a little poetic license...)

Should we use fez-zer??

My dad's name is Nebuchadnezzar
He conquered the city of Gezer.
A history buff, I'm not
But when put on the spot

Reasonable... I say "Feh"

My dad's name is Nebuchadnezzar
And he worked all his life as a "fez-zer",
his nick-name was Hatty
Hailing from Cincinnati

But when put on the spot
He's up there with Julius Caesar

Oh, what the heck:

My dad's name is Nebuchadnezzar
And he worked all his life as a "fez-zer",
his nick-name was Hatty
Came from Cincinnati <--adjusted meter
Where he read The Curse of Ka’zar

I should just give up.

but there's a prompt missing.

so

here:

The nebula glowed infrared

Um...I think infrared must be in the same rhyming dictionary as Nebuchadnezzar... (the one I don't have)...

The nebula glowed infrared
The astronomer went back to bed
He dreamed of eclipses,
trails like an ellipsis ...

The nebula...

Damn.
By the way, poetinahat, I'm searching for verb agreement on line 4!

Funnily enough, Pthom, the Horsehead Nebula is in the constellation of Orion.

When Edison talked about current
He spoke in contractions, like "weren't":
"If it weren't for distance...
and that awful resistance,

Meaney, re: line 4 above: End your search. There's no verb in the line. "Trails" is a plural noun.

When Edison talked about current

He spoke in contractions, like "weren't":
"If it weren't for distance...
and that awful resistance,
I'd buy a house... but I prefer rent."

Picking up the random entry from earlier:

A flea and a fly in a flophouse
Waded through writings by Wodehouse
The flea preferred Jeeves

Here we go again...

You won't believe me if I say yes, but: "The red glow originates from hydrogen gas predominantly behind the nebula, ionized by the nearby bright star Sigma Orionis."
