The first 20,000 words are a total mess; I forgot about one of the characters during a scene in the middle; the end comes completely out of nowhere and I'm nowhere nearer to a publishing deal than I was when I started writing seriously almost 10 years ago BUT the first draft is done and I've remembered why I do this.

Nothing beats this feeling :):):)

Now I must celebrate by drinking until I explode.

:e2drunk: I don't want to enable an explosion, but yay! to the first draft finish. What a great feeling.

Congrats, seun! Explosion is kind of extreme, though, don'tcha think? Maybe just drinking to the point of wobbling would be good?

Cheers, Boss. I have been known to wobble on occasion. And after I have a good wobble tonight, I'll have to think about what I write next.
I love this job ;)

Excellent :) Okay, so you drank all day yesterday, probably didn't explode, and now have a hangover.

So get to work on that second draft revision! :D

Thanks. I'm leaving the first draft alone for a few weeks before I get back to it although it's tempting to read through it right now. I'll resist it and enjoy this particularly fine cup of coffee.

:e2drunk: Congratulations! I'm with Jenna, though, and say wobbling is better than exploding. :) I'm looking forward to seeing your updates on how the self-editing process goes. :)
