Gak! It's been happening since the Mother's Day ugrade - just before the dark days.

Welcome to my world, Susie.

I have determined that it is just 'Perks' - and not the machine I'm working on.

I wonder if it's only happening to those of you who have reached "We've run out of appropriate compliments" stage? The poor board has to crank out all those positive rep points because you guys are positively glowing! :D

Nope. I've been down that road too. There are plenty of members with more rep points than I've got and they're not having this problem.

I think it's because of a funky and probably invisible character in one of the Comments; I don't know this, it's an educated guess.

I just timed doing it. I'm on the computer with the slow connection at the moment . . . it took 8 or 9 second for the User CP pages to come up once I clicked it. If it's taking you minutes, Susie, something is definitely wrong.

It takes mine 28 seconds and I'm on a business grade high-speed connection. There is definitely a problem and it had something to do with that upgrade in May.

the fist step in trying to find the problem is next time you get into user cp, got to edit options and scroll down and decheck the boxes to display avatars, sigs, and images to cut down on loading time.

Let me know if you can't get in and I'll try it or ask Chunk to try it. You may have software in the background running in conflict with these graphics.

Susie, does it lock up your other processes as it's loading? I can't switch between windows at the end of the process.

Doesn't change anything - 30+ seconds to load the cp, to accept the change to the cp, and then to call it up again after heading out to the new posts.

I've tested it with another member who has more than twice as many rep points as I do and that makes no difference. I have the same problem on both machines in my home, the PC at the library and my friend's computer 400 miles away in a different state.

I created another userID to test that and it has no problem loading the CP. It's definitely specific to my 'Perks' ID.

Thanks so much, guys. Really appreciate all your help. It doesn't seem to affect any other things that I click on here...

I'll do as you suggested, RT and will post back about what happens. Much appreciation!

That was so cute, MM what you wrote!:)

We're working on it, Susie. Glad to hear I'm not alone in this cold, cruel world. And I'm glad it was someone as nice as you to share my pain, because now they believe me and aren't just assuming operator error. ;)

Susie and Perks,

I forgot, after you do that you should clear the cache and cookies then reboot.

If it doesn't work at least we will eliminate the conflicting image driver possibilities. There are other things.

Gee, this is a bit odd. Before rebooting and logging out and in, I timed how long it took for the user cp to come up and it was 2 minutes. After doing that it was 3 minutes...
