Goodness - and I thought only those of us who endured neighborhood kids playing in the alley behind the house at 2:00 in the morning while smoking, listening to 'crap' they call music and wearing those pants with the crotch down around the knees looked forward to Back to School with the happy-dance of ultimate Adult-revenge joy and blissfullness.

Never realized parents did, too :D

That's what I said, too, Terri--but I just can't masturbate all day every day, you know?

Maryn, kidding (does that mean I can?)

14 days until school starts here! Count 'em and weep!

I'd do really cool smilies, yanno, if I wasn't semi-computer literate.

20 days here.
but now that my oldest has graduated, it's kinda bittersweet. each new school years means one year closer to an emptying nest.

..and i won't get to keep sleeping in either.

I'm a youth worker and there's something about summer that makes kids absolutely nuts. It's got to be the heat. The only good thing is there are less of them around in summer. (Re-reading that makes me sound like the worst youth worker in the world.)

But . . . my best friend's daughter is going away to college. She's been like a daughter to me.

One more week!!!

Yeah, I don't mind the start of the summer. No more homework. Time at the pool. Beginnings hold so much promise of wonderful things to come. Like a virgin on her wedding night (*winks at Maryn*).

By the end of the summer, well, I'm like a used up old whore.

Isn't that a lovely analogy? It's early and I'm tired and my youngest has asked me the same question ten different ways.
