I have a baaaaad feeling [apologies to Maryn] about my Ruthies goal.

I promised the last novella in my Maewyn trilogy some (not clearly specified) time ago and I only have 8000 words. So it's 1000 words a day on 'A Heart in Shadows' or my editor may pull out the whip with the little teeth and glass shards.

Well, I declined to participate in Ruthie's, in large part b/c I've just got too many other projects, especially a novella that's been "twenty pages" from being done for about two months now, and I swear I've written well over twenty pages in that time, and I've STILL got twenty pages left, and the novella is turning into a novel. Sigh.

*still* working on the novella...

I'm pretty sure that I'll still participate in the RC project. I am unable to focus on just one project at a time. I need variety to keep me focussed. :)

I'm awash in a fourth draft of a novel. The third draft was pretty solid, but too long. All four was supposed to do was trim and consolidate, but the characters had their own ideas... You all know how that goes!

Maryn, who got some writing done because Kid One was away

Basically, I'm playing with JulaNaNo and trying to get my life under control, so the Ruthie's project may have to wait. If I put anything more on my plate I'm going to scream. Although I jump over and mess with it a bit when I get stuck on the Novel.

I may scream anyway...

If I'm going to work for peanuts, I might as well do it free, so right now I'm working on a script for an erotic artist I found over at Renderotica. I'd forgotten all about Ruthies.

I finished the first draft of my novella. I'm going to let it sit before I tackle draft #2.

Maybe I'll have time to work on the RC story this weekend. :)

I'm focusing on my children's stories this weekend and adding words to my novel every day. Just not the right time for the RC project.

I'm toying with the idea of writing a f/f short next week, for another publication. We'll see...

Well, I'm not going to meet my goal of the 10th. Life got in the way this past week and very little fiction writing got done, but maybe one more week and I'll have a draft. I hope.

I finished my latest novel and since I'm letting it sit for a couple of weeks, I decided to try my hand at writing erotica. Not saying it's easy (I'm really struggling so far) but I just thought it might be a fun change. I'm definitely having fun with it so far!! lol

Damn, CB got me all hot and bothered to do a Yaoi script... grumble, grumble, grumble. Poor Nate and Ceasar are stuck in mid, well mid a place where you don't want to be stopped midway through.

Well, it's not writing but I finished a tentative first character design. :) I'm thinking the neon on black colorscheme will help create the surreal feal I want, but I'm not 100% certain about it, so I may change my mind later. The lineart is finalized though - this is Tine. This weeks project is to do the same for at least one more character, and preferably all 3.

sunandshadow - it looks like he belongs in Cirque de Soleil. The design is really interesting.

ok, so have most of us abandoned the RC project? I haven't gotten around to it at all. I know we had good intentions, and it was a good idea at the time. :)

It sounds like everyone's gettting work done, just not on the Ruthie's Club plan. Maybe the timing was just wrong (as it was for me), and we should try it again in a few months.

Yeah, I think my goal of the 10th was a tad too ambitious. I'm still hoping to get a draft put together in the next week or two, but in the meantime I'm working on some freelance projects that will pay me money right now, so I've got to give them priority. Got to buy those groceries!

I'm within sight of the end of the fourth draft of the Novel that Refused to be Shortened (but let itself change radically). Woo-hoo! However, July is positively insane (3 birthdays, a business trip, a kid's oral surgery, a week away from home, our anniversary), so even a half-hour of writing per day is not something I can count on.

Maryn, who only got to write today because the weather precluded working out

Anne and I are 139 words away from hitting the 70k mark on a book we began June 13, yet another in the yaoi/erotic urban dark fantasy world we've created.

When that gets done that makes 5 we've completed in the series since last August for a total of approximately a half million words.

It boggles the mind, especially since I couldn't write word one for four years prior to that.

Barbara - Wow, that's a lot of progress. Kudos!

Maryn - I'm with you. Summer is always hectic...friend's birthdays, get-togethers, out-of-town visitors.

Then again, all work and no play would make me very cranky.

Newbie

Hi all :)

I'm new to AW and obviously new to this bit of the forums.

I've written a few erotic stories and a couple of adult pantomimes so far but never tried to get anything professionally published yet.

I've got ideas for around 5 or 6 more short stories but at the mo I'm working on an erotic novel - had the idea for ages but finally started doing something about it :) - and busily browsing AW for as much advice as I can get.

Hope to chat to you all soon and hope I can help others as much as this forum has already helped me :)

Thanks Lee :)

I'm nowhere near finished and don't get that much time to write so it will probably take me ages but I'm really enjoying it and I'll get there eventually :)

I have written more than 5,000 words so far this week. This is a big leap since I had been having major writers block for months! I feel great, finally going strong and long! I sound like a Viagra commercial now.

Long and strong is the way to go. I'm talking about writing, of course. *snicker*
