Armed Teen Girls Use MySpace To Set Up Robbery Of Man

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A North Florida man claims he was "just looking for some fun" while visiting a popular website. Getting robbed wasn't what he had in mind.

The Jacksonville man planned on meeting in person with a girl he met on MySpace.com. While at the apartment where the two decided to meet, he was instead approached by a 14-year-old and 15-year-old girl.

"She took the gun and put it to my head and said, 'Empty out your pockets,'" the victim said.

The girls didn't get much, since the victim forgot his wallet. They let him go unharmed.

Police searched the area and found the two teens with another male suspect. In the teens' purses, police found two loaded handguns.

He went to the Police?
He will do some time. It is illegal to use the internet with the intent to meet minors. They are going to confiscate his computer and find that this is not the first time.

At first I thought the very same thing. But, it didn't say he went to meet a minor, only that he went to meet a girl. He could have thought she was 19 or 22 (yeah, I know, probably not though).

No, from what I got he talked to a woman (Natalia, 18) and not a minor. He didn't mean to meet up with kids.

I think there needs to be legislation to protect adults against minors using the internet for mayhem and crime.

ah...

That seems odd. Seems like the ideal robbery vic for a sting like this is the guy who agrees to meet a minor, because what are the odds of him actually going to the cops?

Atleast this is a better story than all those "Girl raped because of MySpace use" articles.

Well now, that's pretty good. I wonder how often this happens--we wouldn't know since as you say, who would report it.

This just backs up my theory that you could comfortably run a Mafia through Myspace.com. Barring that, you could pimp out the female members...

That guy probably had his wallet with him, too.

"Give us your wallet!"
"Oh. I. Er. Forgot it. At home."
"Oh. Okay, nevermind, lol! U can go!"
"Okay. Um. Thank you."

Thanks for the link. I have no idea where I got my story, I forgot to pull the link and post it. I’m pretty certain I posted all that was there where I got my story.

Chalk it up to my carelessness.

That's what I was thinking. I wonder if he'll ever do that again. I tend to blame the adult more.

if there was no intent to meet up with a minor, how is what he was doing any different than many people who seek out romance on the web?

he acted legally and in good faith and was robbed by two teenagers who likely will continue a pattern of criminal behavior (or at least impulse) throughout their adult lives.

if he were walking down the street and a 14 year old walked up and put a gun to his head, would you still be blaming him because he is the "adult"?

Poor guy can't get a date, so eh goes online and gets a date with underage girls who try to rob him.

If I were him, I would give up dating and devote my life to reading Robert Jordan, or building a really big Zen garden, or something.

(okay, I know nothing about his dating life. Lemme alone.)

Change the ending a little and make the girls of age and this could be the plot for a damn fine porno.

Well, keep the ending and change the original premise to "intended to meet a minor" and you've got Hard Candy, which came out a few months ago, with Ellen Page (a.k.a. Kitty Pryde of X-Men 3). Good flick, creepy. Wonder if they got the idea from there. But yeah, if the guy thought he was meeting someone of age, then nothing wrong with what he was doing.
