I am corrently in the early stages of gatheing references and information regarding defeminization and find the term and the understandig if it to vary. Any information or reads would be welcome.
This will be a crime fiction novel set in London in th 1900.

I am only familar with that term in biology -- although I do know a little about so-called female masculinity and drag kings.

Hi, Roger. It's a hefty read, but consider "The Crimson Petal and the White." (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0156028778/?tag=absolutewritedm-20. It deals with a Victorian prostitute and her manipulation of her clients, one in particular. Not too far from your time period, and an interesting level of power for one female character and utter lack of it for another.

Unless, of course, I'm totally off by your use of the term 'defeminization,' in which case, it's still a great read but may not serve you at all.
