Anyone ever worked with or know about producer Sam Okun?
He's interested in a screenplay but says his company policy is to now charge $75 because they're "so busy."
He will give a 20 minute phone talk later.

I'm always leery of anyone charging to read, so just looking for feedback/ideas. Thanks.

I’m pretty sure this is the wrong place for this. Guessing it will be moved.

I'm curious as to why you approached him. He hasn't produced a film in 10 years.

When they want your money, they are not your friend. He's charging 75 bucks for 20 minutes of his time, which is fine for a hooker, but not in this case. You can safely bet that he will spin a persuasive sales pitch to get more money from you. Call it a "processing fee" whatever the heck those are.

"Business Description

Sam Okun Productions is located in West Hollywood, California. This organization primarily operates in the Motion Picture and Video Production business / industry within the Motion Pictures sector. This organization has been operating for approximately 13 years. Sam Okun Productions is estimated to generate $128,178 in annual revenues, and employs approximately 3 people at this single location."

I will speculate he is one of the three and the two remaining employees are family. (ONLY THREE PEOPLE????) I will add that by H'wood standards an annual income of 128K is poverty level.

Google maps indicates he's running things either out of a sort of strip mall, but more likely an apartment building. Um, well, lots of people work from home.

Okay, he played a genie in an Australian TV show in 1998

he was one of 5 executive producers on a 1999 TV movie;

one of 6 executive producers on a 2007 TV movie;

and something else that is listed as "in development" which means the property was optioned and someone is likely struggling with a script while trying to sell it to a studio.

Trust me, he is NOT "busy."

If your property is that valuable, they should be paying you. I had one of my books optioned for a whole 100.00, which I had to split with the publisher, and another for fifty cents. The central point being THEY paid me.

I got all that in 15 minutes of googling, it took longer to type out.

He's a minnow in the H'wood shark tank -- or a lamprey if you choose to waste money on him.
