View Full Version : I really need to talk to a neurologist (for book stuff, not my own poor brain)

I could cold call some random neurologist and try to cajole them into talking to me for a short while, but I thought I'd try you tremendous people first.

Anyone have a contact who might be happily willing to talk to a novelist for a little while?

Many neurologists are specialised to something. If you told what you wan't to ask, it could maybe be easier to find the right kind of professional.

- Parkinson, Alzheimer, dementia...
- Autistic spectrum, ADHD...
- Severe hit in the head...
- Chemical trauma...
- Creativity, extremely high intelligence...
- About 1000 other possible topics.

If you know what to ask, you can seek for research and make email questions. (I have done that about mirror cells, mismatch negativity, some autistic spectrum special topics, concepts of thinking...)

Just this week I discovered a blog that focuses on science in fiction (specifically sci-fi, but the posts seem broadly applicable to all genres) . Here's the link that lists all the areas and scientists involved -- there are several neurologists who've taken part.
