Hey Kids-

I'm heading off to the Phillies - Red Sox game tomorrow night. It'll be my first Red Sox game. I'm a Yankee fan, but I've never seen the two rivals go head to head (even though I've seen the Yanks too many times to count).

Does anyone have any messages they'd like me to convey to Big Papi, Manny, or any of the other Sox? I'll shout whatever ya like, as long as it's PG and wont get me kicked out of the park.

Hey, those Phillies fans can be brutal, I'm just trying to fit in! Sigh, I just wish Schilling were pitching...

Where angels dare to tread.
You are going to expose your unborn child to the Boston Red Sox. Why not just have a smoke and a shot of wiskey. It's just as bad.

Here's your message:

Randy Johnson (the pitcher formerly known as the Big Unit) says hurry back -- love and kisses!

Once more, for the late arrivals:

Oh Sara, you will have so much fun! I went to the games only once so far this year, boohoo...but hope to catch some more Rangers games later.

Have fun!

You know I'm a die-hard baseball fan when my husband says:

"Honey, I'd like to take you out of town for a romantic weekend before we have the baby. Where would you like to go? Anywhere."

Sara's response:

"I want to see a baseball game. Any game."

I'm SO excited. I thought this year was a bust for me and my baseball addiction. Yay for me! As for exposing my son to the Sox... at least he's being exposed to baseball.

Easy on the derogatory comments on Boston, though. I wore a Buck Foston shirt to Yankee stadium, and security made me take it off.

In any case, have fun at the game.

If the Rangers can whoop the Yankees then we know the world is really going to end soon...

Gee, Sara, I'd already had you down as a 10 -- even accounting for the Yankees preference :D.

Now what am I going to do? So much for the curve....

Wave real big to Willy Mo Pena for me, okay? And tell me if you don't think Mike Lowell looks like a private eye from the 30s rather than a baseball player.

We took the baby to her first major league game when she was four months old. Apparently that's too late--she has no interest in baseball today. Luckily, you get to imprint yours in utero!

Maryn, knowing that kids reject some of the values you try to instill, but jeez, baseball?

The game was great, even though Boston won... I'll throw some pics up later. The weather was perfect, the crowd was really into it, our seats were in section 112, 14 rows off the field. 112 is a couple sections over from first base, toward right field. Pretty nice, although not as nice as our last game in the Diamond Club.

I have to admit, it was pretty cool to see Big Papi smack one out (along with the 3 other homers we saw.)

Which game did you see? Friday or Sat? My boy Beckett hit a homah. . .

I went to Baltimore to see the Sox v. O's last monday. . . and, yes, you got it, another big Red Sox victory. Becket, 7 IP, 2h, 0BB, 1 ER, 6K. . . that is what I call efficient. Wily Mo, Lowell and Tek go deep for my beloved BeanTown BoSox. . .

Tonight! *Announcer* Monday Monday Monday, Yankees v. Sox- Wang v. Schillling. The notorious Bloody Sock (and shameless self promotoer) v. the hapless Taipei Dynofuzzle. Watch on ESPN (or nesn if you are in New England) at 7:05 EST. . . (though first pitch is ALWAYS at 7:08. . . false advertising, yes?)

I will be watching at my favorite bar. . . for (some of you are may have seen this) I still need to pay ComCast.

C'mon folks, lets hear the chant.

Let's Go Red Sox!
Let's Go Red Sox!
Let's Go Red Sox!
Let's Go Red Sox!

Let's Go Red Sox!
Let's Go Red Sox!

Friday. Homers by Veritek, Papi, and Lowell. Victorino homered for the Phillies. I loved seeing Veritek in his real Red Sox and Manny's pants looked like they were about to fall off when he got a single.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game. We really need to pull out the series, considering what happened 2 weeks ago. I'd hate to see another loss, let alone another sweep...

I was really hoping to see Schilling pitch in Philly, although they would have to be idiots to put him in against the Phillies. He'd probably get shot by that crowd. The last time I saw him pitch was as a Philly, he was phenomenal. My seats were in the 2nd row, right behind 3 base and I could see every pitch, even though I couldn't see the ball. He's one of the pitchers I love to watch.

Yeah. . .

all I really have to say is that Keith Foulke ruined my good vibes for that game.

Keith Foulke was up there throwing batting practice. Were it not for Terrence Long, the game would still be going on.

And Sarita, when you go to a casino do you root for the house to win?

(Yes, I'm a Met fan.)

Sheff is back tonight.

Yankee fans, relax.

Everything will be fine.

If Torre pitches to Ortiz one more time, with men in scoring position and first base open, he gets a swift kick in the balls.

The man needs to learn somehow. He's like a monkey who keeps touching the electric wire.

Thank you.

Sometimes teams get old all at once. I think that's what's happening here.

This is certainly true. Of course, with a pen including Scott Erickson, Ron Villone and Mike Myers (who can't even get Ortiz out), it's not an easy assignment having them pitch to anyone.
