Bit of a belated response to your post, but ITV has started its run of the new season 3.

I love this show. The original runs passed me by, but they were on the ITV hub and I caught up.

Wow. Nicola Walker made an impression on me from her role in Scott and Bailey, from which it was obvious she had some impressive acting chops and now, in Unforgotten, she has been given more decent material to exercise her talent.

What I particularly like about the show is that the victims are not useful MacGuffins to move the plot along. The writer provides a real sense of the impact on their families of their loss. It's also good to see actors, previously known for their turns in popular sitcoms, showing what they can do in straight drama.

I think I've read somewhere this may be the last series Chris Lang writes and I hope this is not the case.
