Not sure this is the place for it but it looks like this topic hasn’t really been broached before, so...

For instance, I’m currently suffering from a throat cold that has me so hoarse, when I cough, my throat literally squeaks. The worst is that I talk for a living and have 2 days to heal as much as I can. My remedies I’ve uncovered thus far are:

Green tea w/ honey
room temperature water (lots of it)
Sleep (lots of it)
No talking

What ails and home remedies do you have that seem to always just work?

Someone I talked to who had laryngitis a lot as a kid recommended the following to me: Lemon juice and honey, served hot.

Of course, she also said she wasn't sure it helped; it was just really soothing.

I hope you feel better soon!

Go easy on the strong flavours; moderate amount of honey versus the other flavour:
  • Uncomfortably warm honey aloe
  • Uncomfortably warm honey ginger
  • Uncomfortably warm honey lemon

Teas:
  • Uncomfortably warm rose tea -- mild.
  • Uncomfortably warm mulberry leaf & chrysanthemum tea.

Uncomfortably warm soup of the following:
  • Ginseng, almonds, wolfberry.
  • Chinese crystal pear with crystal sugar.
