No-win situation

I just got an e-mail invitation to attend the awards ceremony for a contest that I entered. I guess that means I didn't win or I would have been contacted by now.

Oh well. It frees up the two stories I submitted. Now I'm off to submit those stories to magazines instead.

The short story contest is put on by my city's public library and, according to my records, I was supposed to have been informed by May 8.
