When you figure it out, will you let me know?
If not for mom, then for your fellow writers. If not for them, then to support William Haskins for putting the contest together. Or, if you don't care to do it for any of those reasons, then just do it to kick the baby!

i can see it now: poet trading cards, a new FOX series—american poet—keats t-shirts, rampant MP3 downloading of "fern hill", gangs of taggers spraypainting lines from "howl" on brick walls...

it'll be a golden age.

And some sort of iPod poetry accessory. It's nothing right now without some sort of connection to an iPod. ;-)

William, I just read on the poetry forum contest discussion thread that we have 50 votes cast. That's great, but hardly more than the number or entries!
We have a 100 vote goal? So everyone who hasn't voted, GET ON IT!

VOTE BOT will haunt you in your dreams if you don't!!!

Anyone thought about announcing the winner live in the chat room? That might cool. Well that or something at the Dorthy Chandler Pavilion ...

I think Vote_Bot should start dancing at this point like he did before in the Idol contest.

I'll post something on the greeting card board to get them voting!!

I voted yesterday. Honestly all the entries were so darn good that I found it difficult to narrow it down to one. Several nearly moved me to tears. Good work, poets!

Yeah yeah...poets, but what can you say? Well done Mr. Haskins. Indeed, a very fine task made easy by a master of most everything.

if you'd still like to participate, you may cast your vote any time until 11:50 PM tonight (central time).

i'll tally the votes in the dead of night and announce the winner tomorrow (mother's day).
