Hi everyone,
I'm on PitMad today and a new publisher--Stirling Robyns--liked my pitch. I've googled them but didn't find much other than their site and info on Duotrope. I searched here and found nothing.
Could anyone share any info or a word of advice?
Much appreciated. Thanks.

Brand new publisher, as in only a few months old. Can't see much sign of their experience as publishers and editors (though I can see writing credits in their favour), and because they are brand new there is no history of publications we can check up on.

This bit on their website starts raises a few red flags for me:
"There is an option to have detailed editorial feedback on your submission for a small charge of $25.00 which you can select in our Submittable portal."

Thanks, Cameron, that line bothered me too!

Four - count 'em, four - imprints already for a company that has yet to publish a book.* They appear to publish just about anything which falls into the genres represented by their imprints: novels, poetry, novellas, chapbooks.

*But, by gum, you can buy swag featuring their imprints. Yippee!

Their three principals have no discernible trade publishing experience. Their editor worked for a chapbook publisher with barely any internet footprint (in fact, their Facebook page no longer exists, which makes me think the publisher doesn't, either).

It always seems like these rookie outfits pop up during #PitMad, get writers' hopes up, flop around for a year or two and then dissolve.

The owners have parted ways, leaving Stirling Publishing (https://www.stirlingpublishing.co.uk/) with two imprints, Stone Cold Fox Press and Skiddaw Books, "covering most genres".

First books due out this year.
