Maybe it's because of local bookstores here closing left and right, overstocking YA books, and bookstores actually being re-structured or moved to smaller spaces, but these days I don't see any mammoth books.
Back in the mid-2000s, I'd spot them everywhere: Martin, Erikson, Bakker, Sanderson, etc... now. Are shorter books more in demand because of shelf-space?
