• Read this stickie before posting.

    • In order to reduce the number of new members requesting a Beta reader before they're really ready for one, we've instituted a 50 post requirement before you can start a thread seeking a Beta reader.
    • You can still volunteer to Beta for someone else; just please don't request someone to Beta for you until you're more familiar with the community and our members.

Welcome, Fatima. If you've had three requests for fulls, you're clearly doing something right, and you have a lot to offer this community.

There are thousands of members here, and lots of new people joining every day. We try to help them find their footing and fit in. But it's easiest to do if we can get to know them a little bit. Because, of course, this forum isn't the right place for everyone: we're very much a give-and-take, help-and-be-helped bunch, and some folks just aren't into that. And after a few years, one gets a bit demoralised and cynical by people who join, ask for help, ask for more help, ask for yet more help, take up hours and hours and days of volunteer time and knowledge and experience from members, and then disappear without so much as a 'thanks'.

So, apologies, but some of us will want to see you become more a part of the community before we're willing to commit a lot of time and effort by choosing your manuscript out of the hundreds available here for beta-reading. I hope you'll continue to post on the forum and let us get to know you.
