:hooray: It's only a week away, so Daytona Beach, FL or bust! Among the very cool things planned:

RT cover model contest!
Cover Model beach Volley Ball Tournament (need I say more...? ;) )
EC Cavemen models wandering about
Fantasy parties
Military spouse mixer
Racy Rock & Roll party!
Swing and Belly dancing lessons
RT Reviewer's Choice Award luncheon (where we'll be, with fingers crossed!)
Readers events, including trivia contests, jeopardy matches, scavenger hunts
Meeting gazillions of your favorite romance authors at a massive book signing

Anyone else here going? :)

Not me. I've never done RT. And probably won't until after I sell another book.

Hope you have a great time! :) Bring back fun stories about what went on, okay?

I'm so excited about RT. I've never gone to a convention before this, and I am really looking forward to it. The panels sound quite interesting and information, and the parties sound like a blast. Now, I just need to finish packing and polish up my pitch.

me neither. . .

I need to sell enough books (ONE would be nice!) to quit my day job before investing my vacation in going to this convention.

Well, I'm off to Florida tomorrow! :) Everybody play nice until I get back. I've asked the mods to keep an eye on the room, but do try to have the furniture back in place and the trash picked up before I get back on the 23rd... ;)

Hate to say it, but selling one book won't be enough to quit your day job.

And if you're selling romances (even if you're just aspiring to sell romances) then this isn't a vacation. :) It's WORK. (Fun work. But still, it comes under the heading of work. That's why it's tax-deductible. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT an accountant, nor do I play one on tv. <G>)

Cathy, have a great time! We'll try not to have too many friends over and trash the place while you're away!

Susan G. (PPsssttt - Party in the Romance threads! Woo-hooo! <G>)

yep. . .

I'm aware that selling one book is not enough to quit, believe me. I'd just like to sell ONE to help get the ball rolling. I've already written four novels, three of which are on agented submission. I definitely aspire to be a career writer, churning out five or six books a year if necessary. Now if I could just sell the first one. . .

I know *exactly* how you feel. It's that first step that seems so difficult.
