L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest is for short stories or novellas in the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and dark fantasy. Maximum word count is 17,000. The contest is not open to professionally published novelists, or anyone who has had three or more short stories published professionally. Prizes are as follows: (1st – $1000) (2nd – $750) (3rd – $500). This contest repeats quarterly. Winners are also entered in the yearly contest for a grand prize of $5000.
