I always visit:

http://www.realultimatepower.net

and

http://www.engrish.com

for a laugh.

What about you? What sites do you check into when you are having a bad day?

I wish I could mention my favorite sights.

But in the interest of discretion, I'll skip to my 6 and 7th favorites...

I know it's another message board, but that's only because the main site's been down forever.

I like reading blogs and journal articles and on-line versions of classic books.

Stuff like this:
www.slate.com (http://www.slate.com)
www.instapundit.com (http://www.instapundit.com)
http://www.ibiblio.org/zen/cgi-bin/koan-index.pl
http://witcombe.sbc.edu/ARTHLinks6.html

I'm also usually listening to one of these stations:http://www.somafm.com/listen/

There are other websites besides AW? ;)

I sometimes hang out at a home theater forum. http://www.audioholics.com (http://www.audioholics.com/)

And other than stalking underage girls over at myspace, I really don't have any "regular" places. I just surf.

Oh, I forgot about live 365 (http://www.live365.com/index.live) where I listen to music or old time radio.

www.joblo.com (http://www.joblo.com)

www.imdb.com (http://www.imdb.com)

www.ralan.com (http://www.ralan.com)

and various other sites that allow me to engage in nerdy discussions of film, hip hop and comic books.

I mainly hang out at AW, but sometimes I check job listings, but I'm not going to list all those sites.

I also hit up:

Making Light
Holly Lisle
Babycenter

Sometimes I am like King Ferret and just cruise.

Very therapeutic when politicians get on your nerves. (Sorry I don't have an American version for you.)

Ooh, y'all go to IMDb? You don't have to tell us your IDs there, but what boards do you visit? I'm a regular at a few, and a frequent lurker at others.

I have a host of sites that I linger on when work is slow.

The above mentioned Done Deal (though less so since I've taken a break from screenwriting)

ConceptArt.org

CGTalk.com

Ok, is it bad that I glanced at that site and thought it was about alcoholics? :Wha:

I have a few sites, some writing-related, others not so much.

http://www.jigzone.com/ for when I don't feel like writing...

http://mhari.fateback.com/sues.html for when I feel like making fun of those who are writing...

http://www.notam02.no/~hcholm/altlang/ for those days when you just really want to swear at people in other languages and not have them know what you're saying...

http://www.nationmaster.com./index.php for those days when I actually write and need some info. This site has so many stats on a variety of subjects. Pretty cool.

One of my favorite non-writing sites has tons of freebies. It's nice to get freebies in the mail while I'm checking it obsessively for rejections/acceptances.

I'm mostly here, but one site I often use is

http://www.rhymezone.com/

(Yeah, I cheat when I'm writing limericks. So what?)

And if I'm not here, I might be here:

Heck I'll say this much; if I ain't working or writing then this is pretty much the only "writing" or other site I visit. Why would I want to spend all my freetime on the internet? If it's not for the hours I spent here, I probably would just unplug my internet (yeah right!) and write another book or two.

I was internet programming before it was...we used to call it Gopher or Veronica...and HTML hadn't existed. The internet is a tool. The internet is not an excuse to avoid life and live. Real people are waiting to meet you but this medium doesn't provide the physical comforts (sensations) of touch or scent that attracts me.

Get outside more, live, and use the internet as any other utility that provides information and entertainment. But don't spend your life behind a computer talking to people who you will never meet in real life.

Real life is out there --->
