Can I re-query an agent the same book?

I apologize if this question has been addressed already, but I couldn't find it anywhere:

Let's say I send a query to an agent and got either a reject or no response. Then I completely rewrite the query. Would it be okay for me to send the agent my new query? Or does no mean no?

To be specific, I sent some queries out about my trilogy, but now my query only addresses the first book and says it's a standalone with series potential.

Cheering you all on!
Did you rewrite the book too? Is there a different title? Different character names? The query doesn't sound like the old pitch at all?

If you've only rewritten the query then no, don't requery the book.

If you've substantially rewritten the book then you might be ok to requery but proceed with caution. Check the agents' submission guidelines first.

The only time really you can re-query an agent with the same MS is if it's been substantially rewritten. And then in general it's a good idea to note that in the query.
