Anyone else love the live Bear Cam Brooks Falls - Katmai National Park, Alaska?

The salmon just started running and there are a dozen bears there this time of year. The ranger is just now ending his one hour commentary but one of them will be back and you can listen in again. In the meantime the camera's always on and it's light most of the time.

The site also links to a whole slew of other live animal watch cams.

Looks like the ranger running commentary will occur again tomorrow, Fri., July 1st, 7-8pm Alaska time.

He's eating a fish, he holds it in his paws. There're be more bears soon. Yesterday 12 showed up.

All morning the salmon were jumping like crazy and the bears slept in. Now a couple bears are back and the salmon are fewer and farther between. Last night there were 12 bears, there are only two now.

A mother with two cubs have been swimming and running around on one of the other cameras.

Ranger is due to talk at 7pm AK time. (8pm PST)

Could be coincidence but it seems the fish hold back when the bears are around and try to jump the falls as soon as the bears go.

Rangers on but having trouble with the sound. One bear at the moment and lots of salmon.
