Hi, my sister Rachael is starting up a Henna business. If you don't know what Henna is, it's like a temporary tattoo made from the paste of a plant. It comes out brown in color.

My sister can't figure out a good name to call it for the life of her. And she keeps asking me, but I can't figure out a good name either. So i'm asking for some help from all you talented writers! :D

So far she has:

Henna by Rachael
Henna Visions or HennaVisions or Hennavisions

Do either of these sound good? Which is better? Can you guys think of a better name for a Henna business?

She has already said a firm No to Visions of Henna because it sounds too much like some romance novel or video game title.

So what do you guys think?

Probably not Henna Ma, which was the first thing that came to mind.

Sorry.

ETA: Or Henna, Gee, which was the second. They're not getting better.

Probably not Henna Chic... (hen an' chick... never mind... ;) )

My recommendation is KISS it: Henna by Rachael. It's what she does, and who she is. Don't try to get too clever, unless there's another nearby business with a similar name and she needs to avoid confusion.

JMHO...

Henna by Rachael is pretty sweet.

Alternatively:

Fleeting Ink
Brief Tattoo
Vanishing Style

For which, I believe all the .COM domain names are currently available (as at time of post).

Better than my idea, which was "Don't Worry Mom, It's Not Permanent" :tongue

Just to clarify, is she manufacturing/packaging henna to sell in stores, or is she doing the actual artwork on people (like a tattoo artist), or both? That may make a difference in the names people suggest.

I think putting your name in a business sounds a little amateurish. Unless you're a lawyer and it's your last name.

Since henna originates from India, you could use a name based on Sanskrit or Hindi:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Hindi_or_Urdu_origin (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Hindi_or_Urdu_origin#/search)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Sanskrit_origin

I suggest Mandala Henna as a word that's thematically appropriate and pretty widely known to English speakers.

Second choice Samsara Henna. This word actually has a mildly negative religious meaning, but is commonly used (and not inappropriately) in the west to imply sensuality.
