Beverly Cleary turns 100

Happy 100th, Beverly!

Ramona Quimby has a special place in my heart. Beezus, too. As well as Ribsy. Love her!

Wow! Happy birthday to her.

I loved those books when I was a kid. I still chuckle over the way Ramona thought the Star Spangled banner was a song about a lamp called a "dawnzer" that gave off "lee light." I remember mishearing words and phrases, especially in songs, like that when I was little. I wondered why we were supposed to be "invisible under god" in the Pledge of Allegiance for quite a while.

Beezus and Ramona were the best! Being an older sister myself, I really related to Beezus at times, lol.
