I'm at 37,000 words and arguably a bit past the halfway point of my book. That means a goal of 70,000 words may be achievable. I know that doesn't sound like much to a lot of you who write 500,000 word trilogies before breakfast. But for me it's a big deal. I have trouble reaching novel length.
Plus I'm right up against a big sex scene - a sex sequence really - and writing those is fun and generally easy for me (although this one has some nice challenges as well).
