please check all that apply.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 04:12 AM
fuck Ted.

eta:

that damn bastard.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 04:32 AM
really? only 28.57% think Ted was a bastard?

I demand a recount.

William Haskins
03-16-2016, 04:35 AM
only one voter declined to assert poetry's value to AW and to life.

thanks a lot, grandma.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 04:40 AM
she probably likes Ted, too.

ZachJPayne

I need to start spending time here again.

Ted was a prick.

I need to figure out how to become one of those cute Youtube slam poets.

no, but she once stabbed mailer in the face with an eyebrow pencil.

no, but she once stabbed mailer in the face with an eyebrow pencil.

one can hardly blame her for that.

Kylabelle

Hey, Zach! Yes you do need to start spending time here again. Raise the tone of the place some. :D

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:21 AM
Raise it? I was thinking we should dirty it up. Maybe we could win over that one outlier who doesn't think we're adding anything to AW and life.

Also, it would be fun.

Kylabelle
03-16-2016, 05:24 AM
You always think we should dirty it up. Far be it from me to object. :D

But you gotta admit, Zach here has class.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:25 AM
Maybe we should have a poll on that. I'm betting dirty wins in a landslide.

I'm doing my part.

Kylabelle
03-16-2016, 05:34 AM
Dirty versus what, exactly?

Why not construct a poll giving various *types* of dirty as the choices? And write it so it's a poem.

I know you can do it.

It will be so good it will have to be stickied.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:37 AM
oh, it will be sticky.

What is this place?

Who are you people?

Magdalen
03-16-2016, 05:45 AM
oh, it will be sticky.

Tacky, too!

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:49 AM
What is this place?

Who are you people?

pfft. I'll bet you like Ted.

Tacky, too!

That goes without saying, of course.

I have a new favorite voter -- the one who feels poetry adds value to life, but the poetry forum adds nothing to AW. Oh, snap!

ETA:

Kuwi? Was that you?

Magdalen
03-16-2016, 05:56 AM
Thank you, William, for the opportunity to really search my soul on this one (the Ted choice is inspired!) - have I mentioned lately that You, Mr. H, you personally add value to absolute write, and not just in this here forum, bucko! So, anyway, thanks. I hope to have more on that later, etc...

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:59 AM
That's tomorrow's poll, Mag. Don't jump the gun.

ZachJPayne
03-16-2016, 06:08 AM
My classiness -- and, more importantly, the classiness of my writing -- fluctuates based on my blood sugar and blood alcohol. I come from trashy roots, which makes for some sticky, dirty poetry on occasion.

Hmm. I should call my next anthology "Delusions of Grandeur".

:D

CassandraW

Shouldn't VOTE_BOT be out there churning up votes for this?

Calling Hughes a prick is far too kind, but yeah.

Ted wanks.

William Haskins
03-16-2016, 05:17 PM
thanks for responses, everyone.

CassandraW
03-16-2016, 05:23 PM
Ted wanks.

To be fair, he hasn't been able to wank for the last 18 years.

thanks for responses, everyone.

What will you do with them?

Kylabelle

Ted is dead.
But this lot's
still got
the Hughes blues.

:D

Best watch out, apparently "Delusions of Granduer" are a common trait of Sociopaths...or so that's what the internet tests tell me....I mean...*cough*

Also, love the sense of humor :)

CassandraW

fuel my delusions.

It's no delusion. Ted really was a prick to Sylvia Plath.

KTC
03-16-2016, 06:21 PM
that's why the poetics community killed him. After, of course, we said, "We can't stanza, Ted!"

Kylabelle
03-16-2016, 06:22 PM
Someone out there believes poetry adds value to life, but not to AW.

Huh.

People need to be more alert. Don't they realize whole nations rise and fall based on the results of these polls?

tsk.

I took that as commentary on the quality of our poetry here at AW. I am, of course, crushed.

I'd planned to express it via interpretive dance.

Umm, so I had to vote from my smart phone screen, and God only knows what my fat fingers pushed and what recorded, however, I wanted to add-

Ted was a jerk
Poetry forum needs more love on AW.

Stew21
03-17-2016, 01:39 AM
great poll!

I'm confused that more people think poetry adds value to life than people who think poetry forum adds value to AW. I think that might be interpreted as judgment on my moderation skills.

Kylabelle
03-17-2016, 02:26 AM
Not yours, Rob's.

CassandraW
03-17-2016, 03:22 AM
Perhaps we need another poll to determine where the fault lies. I submit that my rabid posting could be to blame.

Stew21
03-17-2016, 03:27 AM
Reasons Poetry forum doesn't add enough value to AW:
Stew's shabby moderation
Too dirty
Too classy
New girl, CassandraW is a rabid poster child
No Silvia Plath oven mitts
Needs more cowbell
Blame cray
Blame poet's hat.

:chair

I just want to agree, Ted was a prick. And Cass is possibly both rabid and sticky. ;)

Stew21
03-17-2016, 03:35 AM
We should probably add:
Because Ted is a prick

Because poeting is hard

Form/function/meter/metaphor...ouch! My head!

Because all Discussions devolve into the "But Lyrics Godwin".

CassandraW
03-17-2016, 03:52 AM
And Cass is possibly both rabid and sticky. ;)

I cannot deny it.

VOTE_BOT probably shares some blame as well, what with his continual baby-kicking and trivia-spouting.

Mostly, though, I blame cray.

Stew21
03-17-2016, 03:54 AM
Long live VOTE_BOT

CassandraW
03-17-2016, 04:31 AM
We should have a vote on that, too.

Kylabelle
03-17-2016, 04:55 AM
Gee. I wonder if Vote Bot could beat Trump.

CassandraW
03-17-2016, 05:03 AM
He has better hair.

Kylabelle
03-17-2016, 05:08 AM
That's certainly a key factor for many voters.

Norman D Gutter

I answered the best I could, given that I'm mostly absent these days as life has driven the poetic out of me (a little more this morning, in fact). It's more of a summary of my 10 years here, which was much more active until about four years ago.

I didn't answer the Ted vs. Sylvia question, as I don't know enough about their history to answer intelligently.

Carry on,
NDG

Ha, I skipped that one too, I didn't know them and I can barely understand my own relationships, forget someone else's. :)

ETA: I did enjoy the question being there, though. :D

I could have said almost exactly the same, Norman. It's awfully good to see you - and I hope it isn't misfortune that's driven the poetic out of you.

Yes! Agree, this census has value ++ since Norman's checked in!
I hope to see AW poets near & far, old and young (or even unborn & guided by a star) check-in for this !! and that means the lurkers, too.

I should find the acrostic poem I wrote about Ted & Plath. As to their relationship - TBH I'll need to read Bell Jar again!!

since i'm a dope i voted before selecting all that apply mark me down for

- i believe a poetry forum adds value to absolute write
-i believe poetry adds value to life

who designed such a complicated poll anyway?
fark.

Can I re-vote? I didn't know much about Ted and Sylvia or how so many people hate Ted, so I didn't vote on that, but now that I'm educated...
