Hey all, I'm looking for a beta for my first novel, a dark contemporary fantasy with elements of horror, fairy tale, and folklore. I've gotten as far as I can go on the revisions on my own, and now I need fresh eyes. I'd be especially grateful for feedback on characterization and pacing.
I'm happy to swap, and I'm open to almost anything under the sf/f/h umbrella, although I'm not very into Tolkienesque fantasy or YA so if that's what you do I might not be the best choice. I can adjust my editing style to whatever you need, although I'm generally very good at critiquing "tells" and suggesting better ways to "show". Given my current schedule, I could probably commit to about 50 pages per week, depending on the level of critique involved.
