Following up with an agent who has your full ms

An agent has had my full ms for over a month now. I gave an agent an exclusive over a month ago for three weeks. I contacted him and he asked for two more weeks which I gave him because no other agents are interested. The two weeks is up today. I'm going to wait a few days for the sake of being polite and understanding people have things to do before I contact him. Hopefully he will have it read by now.
What should I say? Any advice on handling this?

"Hey there - of course I understand you may still be considering, and that's fine, but just a heads up, I'm sending this out more widely today."

OR ... just send it out more widely. Why not? He has a calendar.

I thought I remembered a thread recently here on this topic. I think that heza's advice still holds. I'd email the agent, say the exclusive is up, and let the agent know you'll be querying again -- if you plan to. If you're not planning to continue querying, then I would leave it at heza's mock-up email.
