In the windmill of my mind…
Have you ever sensed you were being discriminated against or not taken seriously at your club/course simply because you’re female? Your rants and anecdotes would be much appreciated… ;)

I'm a guy but I could sure tell you some rants from my male golfing friends about the subject. I'm not a golfer myself . . . so I have NOTHING to do with it.

Do you just want US-based respondents? My friend (in the UK) plays a lot of golf. I`m sure she`ll be willing to provide a rant.

I can't help you - I've never felt I was discriminated against for being female, or even for being a bad golfer. I get a bit of condescension from older golfers, but so does my husband, so it can't be a gender or race thing.

However, my MIL, who was an excellent golfer, was denied admission to a golf club when she was younger, because they only let women join if their husbands were golfers, and her husband didn't golf. She ended up having her son, who doesn't really golf, join, so that she could use the clubhouse at least.
