That's an important goal

My current WIP has been floating around in my head for over 10 years. I didn't have issues trying to figure out what I wanted for the stories, I had to pick an MC, pick a plot and start writing. I found that scribbling notes on my phone or notebook helped. Then I wrote all the ideas down in a word processor and tried to figure out what I wanted to work with, where it fit in my series timeline (oh the troubles of having book 4 planned but not book 2 ).

Outlining really helped give me an idea of how to progress the main plot but in the end, I didn't follow the whole outline, just small points here and there.
